Important Information

The gates will open from 8:30am. The class register will be taken at 8:45am and learning will begin immediately after this. It is vital that pupils are on time to school so that they do not miss any important learning.

Pupils should bring to school each day:

A water bottle with their name on
Suitable clothing for the weather to ensure they are comfortable during outdoor break times
A packed lunch (if required)

Pupils are to be collected from school at 3:15pm

P.E.

5 Chestnut and 5 Sycamore have P.E. every Monday and Wednesday
Children should come to School in their P.E kits. Jewellery and watches must be removed for P.E.

Homework is given out every Friday and is due back the following week. Homework is optional to complete

Key Dates

Monday 6th January - First day of spring term.
Friday 14th February - Break up for the half term holiday.

This half term we will be learning...

English

In English we will be writing biographies and narratives.

We will be focussing on writing a Biography of Mae Jemison

Then we will be retelling of the story Lights on cotton rock.

Maths

In Maths our focus will be around Multiplication and Division following the white rose maths scheme.

Science

In Science this half term we are going to be learning about Earth and Space.

History and Geography.

In History and Geography we are learning about the the Space Race and Extreme Weather.

Art

In Art we are looking at using key skills to create space inspired artwork.

PSHE

In PSHE we will be continuing with my happy mind looking at appreciation.

In R.E we are answering the question Should we forgive others?

Reading Focus

In Spring 1 our Guided Reading text will be:

The Jamie Drake Equation by Christopher Edge.

In Spring 2 our guided reading texts will be:

Earth Shattering Events by Sophie Williams and Robin Jacobs

Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll

and the Caged Bird by Mary Angelou.
