Finish for half term
This half term we will be learning...
English
In English we will be starting with a re-tell of the story 'Lila and the secret of rain'. We will use expanded noun phrases so the reader can imagine what we are describing and we will also be using the conjunction because.
We will then write non-chronological reports on habitats linking it to what we will learn in Science and also use the text 'One day on blue planet' to support our writing.
Maths
Our Maths curriculum follows the White Rose Maths scheme, which is designed to help children develop a deep understanding of key mathematical concepts.

We have a busy half term looking at fractions and time.
Science
This half term our topic will be 'living things and their habitats'. We will start with exploring things that are living, dead or have never lived and then look at habitats and microhabitats.
History
This half term our topic is 'Nelson Mandela'
We will look at what the Apartheid is, when and where is happened; and how it affected black people’s lives. We will also explore the impact Nelson Mandela had and what he achieved.
Art
In Art, our topic is: Life in Colour (Painting and mixed media)
Artist Study: Chris Ofili

PSHE
In PSHE, we use the My Happy Mind curriculum. This half term we will be focusing on the unit 'Engage' and 'Safe relationships' . Children will follow a series of lessons and activities, whilst filling in their My Happy Mind Journals along the way.
RE
This half term our key question is
What do religions/worldviews say about our wonderful world?
